California Small Manufacturers Trust (CSMT)
Providing quality, competitive health care benefits to employees is the goal of every metal facility. But as a single employer, obtaining competitive rates is often challenging.
The California Small Manufacturers Trust (CSMT) is a multi-employer trust utilized by 60+ manufacturing businesses in California. Participants include metal facilities, as well as manufacturing companies outside of the metals sector.
Since 2011, CSMT has successfully brought together multiple employers to leverage the size of their combined buying power and obtain better health insurance rates, streamlined services, and better coverage.
CSMT provides fully insured benefits, but has no self-insurance component. The program is sponsored by the CMC, and available exclusively to CMC members. Often the savings through CSMT far exceed the cost of membership.
The program is led by brokers from Gallagher Insurance and Champion Risk, two of the world's largest insurance providers in the world. If you are interested in this program, please contact CMC.
