October 11: Governor signs SB 848 to provide up to 5 days of unpaid leave for "reproductive loss", with a maximum of 20 days per 12 months.  Starts Jan 1, 2024. (Article)

October 10: Governor vetoes AB 1000 which would have mandated a setback for warehouses of 1000 feet from sensitive receptors for all new and expanded warehouses. (Language)

October 9: Governor signs SB 261 for businesses >$500M to biennially report their financial risks associated with climate change (ex: wildfires, drought); Governor signs SB 263 for businesses >$1B doing business in California to annually report their global emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.  Starts Jan 1, 2026.

October 5: Governor signs bill increasing paid sick leave from 3 to 5 days starting 2024. (Article)
